Vesta Rowing Club Scoops Rowing Safety Prize

The Port of London Authority (PLA) recently presented its seventh annual rowing safety awards, with Putney-based Vesta Rowing Club named as overall winner.

Vesta received its £1,000 prize from PLA chief harbour master, David Phillips (pictured, left), at a presentation ceremony in their clubhouse. The runners up were Tideway Scullers Rowing Club and University of London Rowing Club, both of whom received £500.

The rowing code is currently being updated. A new version will be published in the New Year 2014, featuring, for the first time, a section on rowing on the river in the Greenwich area.
