Port of London Authority Board Changes

Tony Quinlan (click on image to enlarge)The Port of London Authority (PLA) appoints Tony Quinlan as a non-executive director with effect from 1 March 2012. Tony will become Chairman of the Audit Committee after Pommy Sarwal retires from the Board in May following the completion of his six year term as a Member of the Authority.

Peter Matthews OBE retired from the Board at the end of February after completing his six years as a Member. 

Tony Quinlan is Group Finance Director of the electricity generation business, Drax Group plc.  He joined the Drax board in September 2008; previously he was at Marks & Spencer, where he held a number of senior positions within Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations and Financial Control. From 2005, he was Director of Finance, the deputy to the Group Finance Director.

A Chartered Accountant, he gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry with Business Studies and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA).  Tony, who was born and raised in London, has direct experience as a major port customer from his work at Drax.
