The Port of London Authority (PLA) and Shell will be running an emergency exercise on the Thames, in the vicinity of Canvey Island, on Tuesday, 4 July.

In just three months’ time, a fleet of international Tall Ships will arrive in London for the start of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta - a visual maritime feast over the Easter weekend that will see dozens of majestic Tall Ships set sail for Quebec in Canada from the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The countdown is on to Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta that will celebrate 150 years of the Canadian Confederation in a breathtaking sail from the shores of Royal Greenwich to the heart of Quebec. Royal Greenwich will be the first host port for the race to Canada and, with over 8 miles of riverfront set against a backdrop of historic buildings and majestic parks, there will be plenty to see and do during the rally-point for the fleet of Tall Ships over Easter weekend 2017
