Last chance for Thames raffle in support of harbour master

There are less than three days left to support Port of London Authority harbour master, Mark Towens’ fundraising drive and secure a chance to win a unique prize: a private party for 120 guests aboard the Thames river yacht, Silver Sturgeon in 2021.

Funds are being raised to help Mark secure emergency cancer treatment overseas. The trip is needed urgently as the disease, first detected over 15 years ago, returned at an advanced stage four years ago and has recently spread to Mark’s brain.

The Woods family, who own Wood's Silver Fleet got in touch with Mark’s sister, Joanne, to offer the unique raffle prize when they heard about Mark's story. Each £50 ticket gives supporters the opportunity to win the private party, which is worth £30,000.

Joanne said:

“The offer from Woods is amazingly generous. We now need to get as many tickets sold as we can as we are so close to the fund-raising target.”

So far, around £90,000 of the initial £100,00 target has been raised, but all extra funds will help the family access the care Mark urgently needs, which is not available in the UK.

The party for 120 on board the Silver Sturgeon which the winner will secure includes:

  • champagne on arrival, while taking in one of the city's most memorable views – the river's curve at Waterloo Bridge – from Woods Quay.
  • a delicious, two course set lunch by Head Chef Douglas Gaunt, freshly created in the galley with seasonal produce.
  • a fine wine selected by our sommelier along with coffee and herbal infusions.

The raffle closes at 6.00 pm on Friday, 31 July. You can enter using this link: https://raffall.com/34881/enter-raffle-to-win-private-party-for-120-on-thames-hosted-by-joanne-towens-
