Agreement Between The Port Of Dunkirk And Dart Line

On Wednesday, July 9th 2003, a charter has been signed between the Port of Dunkirk Authority and the company Dart Line, in presence of:

Mr. Pierre Joly, (Commercial Director of the Port of Dunkirk Authority),
Mr. Ron Herman (Managing Director de Bidcorp Shipping),
Mr. Ronny Daelman (Commercial Director of Bidcorp Shipping),
Mr. Frédéric Barra (Director of the SSTD),
Mr. Bernard Gouvart (General Secretary of the CSOPMI).

DART LINE has developed, since September 2001, a Ro-Ro service between Dunkerque and Dartford, which has diversified the services offered from Dunkerque to the U.K. This line is of great importance for the development of logistic activities in Dunkerque.

The success of such a service depends on the capability of the various official bodies, contractors and representatives to ensure a totally reliable, quality service. The signatories of this charter undertake to :

• Ensure the necessary means, and in particular the means of berthing, to allow the company to operate in normal conditions.
• Allocate the manpower and necessary equipment within the required limits which are required for loading and unloading vessels.
• Not hinder by any means the accesses to the vessel and/or terminal by their staff of terminal equipment for any reason, including the social difficulties thus allowing the freedom of movement of traffic and personnel.
• Work together, wherever possible in advance, to find solutions in the event of difficulties caused by situations outside the direct control of the parties to this agreement.
