There was a fascinating collection of boats assembled on Thames for the Olympics from the tall ships of the Sail Greenwich flotilla to HMS Ocean, the biggest ship in the Navy, used as a base for the security forces.

Most were on the river until after closing ceremony on August 12. Here, at a glance, is a list of their locations.

West India Docks:   From July 23 the historic clipper Stad Amsterdam, followed on July 24 by the cruise ship Deutschland.

At Greenwich: From July 13 HMS Ocean, helicopter and troop carrier.

Woolwich Arsenal: From July 25 the 14 tall ships of the ‘Sail Greenwich’ fleet. They sailed twice daily between Greenwich and Tower Bridge from July 26.

Tower Bridge: From July 27 the sailing ship Belem was at Tower Stairs Mooring.
